Trading the red-earth dust for a New Zealand plant floor could suit a skilled technician. A busy production operation needs an Automation Technician who can get PLCs working, keep control systems healthy and take on upgrade and project work.
You would be on site for 45 hours a week from Monday to Friday, starting around 7am. Several automation experts with longer service at the employer's other sites would be near at hand. Expect lots of projects and a real taste of AI, robotics and advanced manufacturing technologies.
The employer favours suitably qualified New Zealand-based candidates, but welcomes experienced applicants from overseas, and says that Accredited Employer Work Visa sponsorship could be available for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop PLC programs, then test and commission them
- Provide HMI and SCADA support
- Run automation upgrades and improvement projects
- Fault-find electrical and control systems
- Support the reliability and performance of the plant
- Work with the engineering, maintenance and production teams, and help integrate new automation technologies
Requirements & Eligibility
- Electrical trade qualification or something similar
- Ideally 4-5+ years in manufacturing or industrial automation
- Experience with common PLC platforms
- Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills, plus the ability to read electrical drawings and control schematics
- Self-motivated and practical
