Civil Engineering Technician

Visa sponsorship

Engineering · Perth, WA, Australia · Full-Time · $80,000 - $90,000/yr · Visa: Employer sponsored

Western Australia's civil construction and earthmoving sector includes a growing business that specialises in earthworks, site preparation and civil projects for residential, commercial and industrial developments, and it now needs a Civil Engineering Technician to support its Civil Engineer.

Expect permanent full-time work, Monday to Friday, in 8-hour shifts, split between the office and site. In the office you draft and document in AutoCAD and Civil 3D. Out on site you take field measurements and run material testing, technical inspections and quality checks that follow approved designs, Australian Standards, project specifications and WHS requirements. Applicants who are suitably qualified and meet the relevant immigration requirements could be sponsored on a visa under the Subclass 482 Skills in Demand visa program.

Ugandan technicians can list drawing software, testing and inspection experience and site work on the CV, then prepare a technician CV through Build AI CV.

  • Calculate quantities and cut-and-fill volumes, produce schedules and tender documents and help estimate material and labour costs; check subcontractor submissions
  • Keep supervisors, operators, subcontractors and surveyors informed, keep accurate records for quality control and handover, and report site issues affecting quality or compliance
