Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and repair heavy diesel trucks and semi-trailers
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, braking and suspension problems and repair them
- Do preventative maintenance on schedule
- Work on air brake systems, axles, wheel bearings, landing legs and trailer components
- Inspect vehicles for safety and make sure they meet NHVR compliance
- Keep maintenance records and job reports up to date, working efficiently to a high standard of workmanship
Requirements & Eligibility
- Trade qualification: Heavy Diesel Mechanic or equivalent
- Experience on heavy vehicles and trailers
- Experience with air brake systems and trailer maintenance
- Sharp diagnostic and fault-finding skills
- Comfortable working alone or as part of a team
- Strong commitment to safety
- A solid work ethic
- An HC/MC driver's licence, which is an advantage
