A private mental health hospital in Melbourne has permanent, full-time openings on its inpatient unit and is asking for Registered Nurses with real experience of mental health care. The patients there are acutely unwell with complex needs, and every nurse works inside a team made up of different disciplines.

Key Responsibilities
- Carry out comprehensive mental health assessments
- Deliver nursing care shaped around the individual and assist patients dealing with bipolar disorder, depression, anxiety, schizophrenia and other conditions
- Undertake risk assessment and conduct mental state examinations
- Track patients' condition through monitoring and take responsibility for administering medications
- Observe responses to treatment and step in with crisis intervention when needed
- Take part in recovery planning and support therapeutic engagement
- Partner with psychiatrists, psychologists and allied health staff, as well as other nurses and complete accurate clinical documentation
- Assist with discharge planning
Requirements & Eligibility
- Qualified Registered Nurse with inpatient mental health or psychiatric nursing experience
- Registered with AHPRA already, or eligible to obtain Australian nursing registration
- Clinical assessment and risk management ability at a strong level
- Strong skills in communication
- Experience across acute mental health, adult psychiatry or specialist inpatient services
- Commitment to a recovery-focused, trauma-informed, person-centred approach
- Hoping for employer sponsorship via the Subclass 482 visa
