Support Workers are needed for the Permanent Relief Team of a community living trust near Dunedin that gives residential support to people with learning disabilities. It is a full-time post at 40 hours a week, and the trust is committed to person-centred care, inclusion and connection with the community.
Shifts cover days, afternoons, evenings, awake nights, split shifts and weekends, in a home-like environment that is safe and warm, where people are supported towards fulfilling, independent lives. As an Accredited Employer, the trust is prepared to support AEWV sponsorship applications for appropriately experienced and qualified candidates, and the job is approved at skill level 4. The right to work in New Zealand is a must-have.

Key Responsibilities
- Assist with daily routines such as shopping, preparing meals and tidying the home
- Provide personal care with respect and attention to safety
- Help people join community activities and outings
- Promote independence, choice and wellbeing
- Follow support plans
- Record information accurately
Requirements & Eligibility
- A person-centred, respectful approach to supporting people with learning disabilities
- Good common sense, and the ability to work independently
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, as well as good computer skills
- Support Worker / Caregiver / Healthcare Assistant experience in NZ, or a Certificate in Health & Wellbeing (Level 2 or higher)
- Able to work weekends and a mix of shifts
- Full New Zealand driver's licence (essential), with the right to work in New Zealand
