Where can you learn insurance engineering and design side by side? An engineering consultancy that advises builders and insurers is taking on an undergraduate engineer in its specialty and major projects team. Its work covers insurance reports and scopes of work after damage to residential, commercial and industrial property, plus Structural, Civil and Stormwater design for many kinds of development.
The position is part-time, with undergraduate training run from the Sydney office, and it is meant as a long-term career with a business that has growth plans. Senior engineers who perform at a high level will mentor you closely, and you will meet Structural, Civil, Geotechnical, Stormwater and Architectural designers. Visa sponsorship may be considered. Applicants provide a CV, cover letter and academic transcript.
For the CV, list the engineering units you have completed, your Autocad work and any reports you have written. A student in Kampala can add project work. Build AI CV can arrange the sections neatly.
Key Responsibilities
- Write causation reports on defects and damage, aiming for client satisfaction.
- Prepare the scope of works.
- Keep billings up to date.
- Do site inspections and liaise with all stakeholders.
- Do structural design of timber, steel and concrete structures and the drafting that goes with it.
- Prepare designs with Autocad and pay close attention to technical detail in everything to do with buildings.
Requirements & Eligibility
- Passion for Engineering.
- Strong technical report writing skills and excellent attention to detail.
- An instinct for structural behaviour.
- Keen to learn, be mentored and be part of the team.
- High level of English writing and structural analytical skills will be highly regarded.
- Able to utilise Autocad.
