At a long-established fencing manufacturer in Perth, the work is steel. You would prepare, cut, shape and join components, make frames and gates, run MIG welds and get the chance to learn other areas of the plant.
Applicants need to be already residing in Australia with valid working rights. That covers Working Holiday visa holders (417/462) if their skills and experience fit, as the manufacturer wants long-term staff and could offer sponsorship under the subclass 482 Skills in Demand visa, depending on occupation, skills assessment and immigration requirements. Be ready to sit a formal skills assessment if asked.

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, cut, shape and assemble steel components
- Fabricate frames, gates and other steel products
- Carry out MIG and other relevant welding
- Interpret technical drawings and fabrication specifications, and operate fabrication machinery, equipment and hand tools
- Inspect finished welds and products for accuracy and quality, and learn other areas of the operation, helping other teams when required
Requirements & Eligibility
- Certificate III/IV in metal fabrication or welding (or a comparable overseas trade qualification) plus at least 12 months of relevant skilled work in the last five years
- As an alternative, at least three years of skilled metal fabrication and/or professional welding experience, no formal qualifications needed
- Payslips and employer references that prove dates of employment and skilled duties, plus practical welding and fabrication competency
- Current residence in Australia with valid working rights
- Readiness for a formal skills assessment where required
