A Sydney stone manufacturing business is hiring an experienced Stonemason / Stone Fabricator for kitchen benchtops and other stone applications. Natural and engineered or manufactured stone is fabricated entirely by wet-processing (water-fed), 100% of the time, and the business looks for pride in high-quality work.
The job is permanent, full-time and long-term, available immediately, on Monday to Thursday 7:30am to 5:00pm and Friday 7:30am to 4:00pm, with overtime and Saturday work possible. Employer-sponsored visa opportunities may be offered to suitably qualified and experienced international candidates who meet Australian immigration requirements, and overseas applicants and people living in Australia on a temporary visa are welcome. Key Responsibilities
- Turn natural and manufactured stone into kitchen benchtops and other items.
- Cut, shape, polish and finish stone.
- Laminate and mitre edges to a high standard, with neat mitred joins and finished edges.
- Work from plans, drawings and measurements.
- Keep output accurate and efficient in a busy production environment.
- Keep standards of workmanship and detail high.
- Follow health and safety procedures and company systems.
Requirements & Eligibility
- Stonemasonry and stone fabrication experience, natural and manufactured stone alike.
- Laminating, mitring, polishing and finishing done with confidence.
- Able to read plans and drawings.
- Consistently high-quality results.
- Works alone or in a team.
- Detail-focused and proud of the work.
- Reliable, hardworking and efficient when the pace is fast.
- Physically able to do the role, with a current driver's licence.
- Has a White Card or will get one.
- Helpful: forklift licence (advantageous but not essential).
- 3+ years' relevant experience is preferred; suitably skilled candidates with less experience will also be considered.
