Hearty, rustic food and drink are the signature of a Queenstown hotel bar and restaurant, which is hiring two Commis Chefs on permanent contracts of 30 hours a week. The kitchen works on breakfast items and conference food as well as the regular menu, and the team is tight-knit.
Availability for late nights, weekends and public holidays is needed. The employer can potentially offer visa sponsorship for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities
- Use produce and food items of good quality only
- Cook, plate and present a range of dishes, including breakfast items and conference food, with the right accompaniments
- Cater for dietary needs such as dairy-free and gluten-free
- Observe hygiene, health and safety procedures and use appliances and tools correctly
- Ensure every guest gets a quality product
- Support HACCP procedures
- Look after supplies and equipment, minimising waste
- Help with other kitchen duties and washing up when needed, and assist with freezing, preserving and, when required, training and recruitment
Requirements & Eligibility
- Availability for late nights, weekends and public holidays
- Team player who fits a tight-knit team
- Experience in a similar position, with à la carte menu experience
- Ability to work 30 hours a week permanently
- NZQCF Diploma, or at least three years of relevant experience instead of the formal qualification (a mix may be suitable)
- Safe food handling certification is an advantage but not required
