Christchurch's CBD has a rooftop bar in its sixth year that counts as one of the premier hospitality venues in town, and it needs an experienced Duty Manager. Doors are open Tuesday through Sunday with sharing plates and fresh seasonal offerings, full table service at all times, and Mondays given over to presentation, cocktail competitions, functions and training.
Expect a permanent, full-time role on a 30 hour minimum contract with rotating closing shifts, which means evenings and weekends, with Friday and Saturday evenings non negotiable. The business is building a small yet strong team that works hard and offers consistent, in-depth training and growth to those who commit. Immediate starts are available, and sponsorship is available for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities
- Welcome guests as they arrive.
- Manage incoming reservations and customer enquiries.
- Deliver general customer service: taking orders, up-selling and payments.
- Lead from the front and keep the team on track.
- Make sure customers are satisfied and act as the point of contact for functions.
- Watch front of house costs, overheads and the roster so they stay in line with KPI's and targets.
- Run front of house trainings and maintain a positive staff culture.
- Order stock and carry out the monthly stocktake.
- Do the standard opening and closing procedures.
- Keep the venue safe and healthy and meet legal obligations.
- Take part in new menu development: drinks, recipes, costings and marketing.
Requirements & Eligibility
- At least three years working behind a bar.
- Warm and welcoming, driven to succeed, with ambition to grow and a positive attitude.
- Experience making cocktails at high volume.
- Passion for the industry.
- Valid LCQ and current Duty Managers Certificate.
- Can commit to evening and weekend work (Friday and Saturday evenings are non negotiable).
