Sous Chef

Visa sponsorship

Hospitality · Queenstown, New Zealand · Full-Time · $37/hr · Visa: Employer sponsored

Queenstown's premium hotel, currently being transformed, runs several dining and bar venues and needs a Sous Chef ready to step up and lead its kitchen team. The job is permanent and full-time, with a minimum of 40 hours per week.

Sponsorship is available for the right candidate under an Accredited Employer Work Visa (AEWV), and the hotel invites New Zealand residents and international candidates who meet the requirements to apply.

Specific examples from your own experience are easier for a reader to trust than general claims.

Ugandan chefs from Kampala or Entebbe hotels, including those with DIT-certified culinary training, can lead the CV with outlets run, brigade size and food cost results. Use Build AI CV to prepare a clear sous-chef CV.

  • Run food production at each hotel outlet, keep culinary standards at their peak and approve every prepared item sent out

  • Hire, train and develop kitchen staff, and nurture a harmonious, high-performing culture
  • Keep the kitchen clean, safe and hygienic, following WHS guidelines, food safety standards and the hotel's grooming requirements
  • Work with the F&B Manager, outlet supervisors and front-of-house teams so operations run smoothly across all venues
  • Keep standards steady from first prep to last service
